About This Tour

This private day trip takes you by car from Central London to Stonehenge in Wiltshire and then to the city of Bath, before returning to London in the evening. The day lasts around 12 hours, and the driver waits for you at both stops, so you can move at your own pace without coach timetables.

Stonehenge is about 140 km from Central London, usually a drive of two to two and a half hours depending on traffic on the M3 and A303. English Heritage manages entry with timed tickets, and booking online before the day is cheaper than paying at the gate. From the visitor centre a shuttle bus runs to the stones, or you can walk part of the way across the downland. Most visitors spend one and a half to two hours on site.

Bath is around an hour further on. With roughly three hours in the city there is time to visit the Roman Baths, where the Great Bath and the hot spring sit below street level, and then walk to Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and the Royal Crescent. The Roman Baths stay open until 18:00 on standard days, with last entry at 17:00.

Compared with a three-stop day that adds Windsor, this route gives more time in Bath and runs every day the attractions are open. Stonehenge is open daily except 25 December, and the Roman Baths close only on 25 and 26 December.

Attraction tickets are not included and are not sold by MisterFare. The driver is a chauffeur, not a guide. Send a booking request with your date, party size and pickup address, and MisterFare will reply with a quote.

Approximate plan for the day

  • Pickup in Central London — Driver collects the party from the agreed address or hotel.
  • Stonehenge — Timed entry at the visitor centre, shuttle or walk to the stones, exhibition and replica Neolithic houses.
  • Drive to Bath — Around 55 km across Salisbury Plain.
  • Bath — Lunch and free time: Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge, Royal Crescent.
  • Return to London — Drive back to the original pickup address, about 185 km.

Timings are agreed with you when the booking is confirmed and depend on traffic and your chosen ticket times.

Accessibility and walking

At Stonehenge the shuttle bus is wheelchair accessible and a level path runs around the stones, partly hard surface and partly mown grass. The Roman Baths are an ancient site on several levels with some uneven surfaces; check the official access information before travelling. Bath city centre is compact but hilly towards the Royal Crescent. Walking level: moderate.
